Alex Alpert is a global executive, investor, and strategic operator with a career spanning capital markets, technology, logistics, and sustainability. As Managing Director of Capital Formation at Carbotura, Alex is responsible for leading all fundraising activities, investor relations, and capital structuring across the company’s portfolio. He brings a rare combination of deep financial acumen, operational expertise, and a sharp instinct for communications and positioning, helping Carbotura align institutional capital with high-impact sustainability ventures.

With more than a decade of experience in venture capital, M&A, and global expansion, Alex has raised over $100 million for his portfolio and clients. His background blends boardroom-level leadership with frontline startup execution—advising founders, building investor narratives, and driving growth through capital efficiency and brand clarity. He has played a central role in numerous high-profile transactions, including the acquisition of Bekins Van Lines by Wheaton World Wide Moving, where he led the integration of technology, logistics, and sales functions to help create the third-largest van line in the world.

Alex previously served as Founder and CEO of Shyft, a venture-backed platform that brought digital transformation to the global relocation industry. He raised over $40 million in capital and scaled the company to more than 500,000 users, building a 300-person team across the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. Under his leadership, Shyft secured commercial partnerships with enterprise clients such as Amazon, Google, and AARP, while driving innovation at the intersection of logistics, labor, and technology.

He is the founder of Majic Capital, a global investment and advisory firm focused on early-stage companies, capital formation, and strategic growth. Through Majic, Alex supports a diverse portfolio of ventures across technology, infrastructure, sustainability, and emerging markets—working closely with founders and funds to scale companies that are positioned to lead in the industries of tomorrow.

Alex is a member of the NFX Guild, one of Silicon Valley’s most respected founder networks, and currently serves as a mentor for PortXL, the world’s first maritime accelerator. A Silicon Valley veteran with roots in a small steel town, he now splits his time between Belgrade and the U.S., where he remains deeply involved in building and financing the next generation of purpose-driven companies.
